Growing
up in North Miami Beach, Florida, I always had an affinity for the arts as well as math and science. I read books about space and love science fiction. In my spare time I often wrote poetry, short stories, and more. Additionally, I would also design and sketch outfits and other ideas with paper and pencil. Occasionally, I’d paint or draw.
Upon graduating from the University of Miami, I moved to Los Angeles and after a long six months of working on independent films pro bono and doing extra work, I entered the Warner Bros. Production Assistant Program. Somehow production accounting became a part of my duties and I quickly embraced it. Due to the crazy work schedules and lack of job security, I moved to an overhead position at Turner Broadcasting.
In August 2009, I moved back to my home town. The reason was twofold: to aid my mother after the death of my father and work with my husband, Eric, managing websites.
Aside from that, I also wanted to learn computer languages such as HTML and the newly emerging CSS. So, I taught myself via internet research. I’m constantly learning new things and plan to learn (more) PHP whenever I get the chance.
I was always interested in graphic design, which didn’t fully take a hold of me until I downloaded The Gimp. I shortly fell in love with image manipulation and creating web graphics.
